A1 Systems company has launched the eSIM service for 5G-operator ZET-MOBILE in Tajikistan. It is the first eSIM international commercial launch for the company.
With the help of a special eSIM-chip pre-installed on a smartphone, the eSIM technology enables the connection to the mobile operator’s network without a physical SIM. Operators’ profiles upload on a chip from the eSIM-platform via the Internet. Profiles of different operators can be installed on a single chip.
The Tajikistan mobile operator OOO Tacom, brand name ZET-MOBILE, owns the license to provide cellular services based on the standards of GSM 900/1800, UMTS, LTE, 5G, telematic services, data transfer services, and international and national connection in Tajikistan. At the moment, ZET-MOBILE has a large-scale commercial 5G network and currently provides network services to its subscribers using this advanced technology.
The official GSMA SAS SM (Security Accreditation Scheme Subscription Management) certification that A1 Systems successfully confirmed in March of 2021 allows the company to provide eSIM services to customers all over the world from its Moscow data-center.
For A1 Systems, the launch of eSIM services with ZET-MOBILE became the first international commercial project. Before that, the company has already conducted a few international pilot launches, at different times and in various countries. What particularly distinguishes international projects is that reliable cross-border channels for data exchange between the participants must be established.
Additionally, the ZET-MOBILE project became the first A1 Systems launch of the eSIM services with the use of 5G. 5G profiles have their peculiarities which were considered and addressed during the launch. eSIM-solution by A1 Systems proved to be fully compatible with the 5G technology. Right now, it operates successfully in the mobile operator’s network.
Altogether, the company has completed 15 pilot and commercial launches in Russia and other countries.
