A1 Systems has enabled the subscribers of Tele2 to change the network’s name

Tele2 subscribers in Russia will now be able to change the network’s name on the screens of their smartphones. The service allows its users to make up their own name for the network.

One of A1 System’s solutions was used for the launch — A1S OTA that allows to remotely control the settings of SIMs and eSIM profiles as well as to change SPN (service provider name).

The service is available for any data plan, both private and business customers of Tele2. The network’s name should have 15 signs or less and can contain Latin letters, numbers, and/or special symbols (!@#.,&?/).

The connection to the service is available through interactive communication or via sending the USSD-command. The service is possible to manage through USSD or a personal account.

A1 Systems company held the whole range of work to make the solution come to life: worked through the business logic, performed the integration with the operator’s billing, offered and regulated its own OTA platform.

Before integration, the solution went through a thorough R&D process. The integration was special because various phones work differently with SPN on SIMs. Similarly, the SIMs used by subscribers are different too — they can be produced by different manufacturers and can differ from version to version. This information has been meticulously studied and analyzed by the A1 Systems engineers. As a result, the control signals for SIM and eSIM have been selected in a way that enables 95% of Tele2 subscribers to use the service.

This difficult task was possible to manage due to A1 Systems 13-year-long experience at working with SIMs.
